Amazon EFS file systems are distributed across an unconstrained number of storage servers, enabling file systems to grow elastically and allowing massively parallel access from EC2 instances. This name will be used later when you create a storage class. Highly available, Durable, and Flexible. Amazon EBS is designed to store data in blocks (volumes of a provisioned size) attached to an Amazon EC2 instance, similar to a local disk drive on your physical machine. EBS could make sense if you are hyper sensitive to speed (and can't achieve the speeds with S3+other components) and not cost or high availability. Amazon S3 is an object storage typically used for backup and media hosting. Block storage which is attached with only one instance in a particular region.
